The night sky will be the guest of honor at the annual Star Party Friday, Sept. 2, at Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids. People of all ages are welcome.
After a short astronomy talk at 7:30 pm, astronomers at the Star Party will invite all to take a look through their various telescopes at all the dark Iowa skies offer.
If the weather is clear visitors will have a chance to see different galaxies, nebulas and stars millions of light years away, as well as some of the planets in our cosmic back yard – the solar system.
Attendees should dress appropriately for the weather and bring a blanket. The Whiterock Conservancy Star Field is located at 1523 140th St, Coon Rapids.
